i learned a beautiful but bitter thing today. i was at school having a lecture about the art of 19th century including the impressionism and postimpressionism. well, first i must say i love art lectures. there's this beautiful young lady lecturing. i think she really loves what she's talking about. and you can feel it. she makes you love those painters... unfortunately we only have two or three lectures pro semester but believe me, it's worth going there and spending the 2 hours listening to her, watching the slides...
people, do you know who Cézanne was?
They say every artist is in a conflict with the world around them, with the society, the people, the system, the "normal"...
this man dropped painting figural themes to focus on paining still lives with fruit and flowers saying
"Fruits don't get spoilt as rapidly as your friends do..."
what a big idea... i find it worth a muse. and unfortunately, i must say i can relate to this thought.
oh well, beautifully bitter
or bitterly beautiful...
